Lorene Kathleen Mueller Ivy, 94, of Junction, Texas passed away on Monday, March 23rd, 2020.
She was born on September 27, 1925 to Frank and Minnie Mueller of London, Texas. Her childhood years were spent in London where she attended early grade school and then transferred and graduated from Junction High School in 1943. She attended Blinn College for a short period then due to World War 2 circumstances was forced to move back home with her parents in Mason. Shortly after arriving home she got a job at the Western Auto of Mason where she worked for 3 years.
On June 9, 1946, Lorene married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, AJ Ivy, Jr, of London, Texas, and on May 29, 1952, had their only child, Candace Mae Ivy. Lorene worked at the Junction Stockyards for 30 years and retired in 1998. She was very active within the First United Methodist Church of Junction where she proudly served as the Choir Director for 37 years.
She had a great passion for music and often told stories of her playing the piano for her schoolmates, which at times really bothered her because she could not join in on the dancing fun! Lorene wasn’t scared of work. She enjoyed working alongside AJ on their ranch in London, doing chores mostly fit for a man, but doing so with grace. She loved cooking for large family gatherings and especially enjoyed making the Thanksgiving Day dressing for all to enjoy.
Lorene is preceded in death by her husband AJ Ivy, Jr., her parents Frank and Minnie Mueller, and sister Dorothy Miller. Lorene is survived by her daughter Candace Mae Ivy Angell and husband Lee; grandchildren Allie Noelle Hoffman and husband Mark, Nash Ivy Nichols and wife Pam, Nate Nichols and wife Ashley, Kenny Angell and wife Casey, and Keith Angell; twelve great-grandchildren; her sister Frankie Hendley and brother Corky Mueller; and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A Celebration of life will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Curry officiating.
Due to social distancing circumstances at the time, private graveside services were held at London Cemetery.
