Obituary

Wesley Hardin Hooker, 81, of Junction, Texas, passed away May 5, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born October 6, 1944, in Belton, Texas, to Mary Doss Hooker and R.A. Hooker. Wesley spent nearly his entire life in Junction, where he worked proudly and tirelessly in the cedar mill industry, a trade that shaped much of his life and the community he loved.

On November 23, 1962, Wesley married the love of his life, Minnie Raley. Together they built a strong and devoted partnership that lasted 63 years. Their life together was filled with family, hard work, and deep-rooted Christian values.

Wesley had a deep love for the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing and hunting with friends and family. He found great joy in being outdoors and sharing that time with those closest to him. This passion became one of his greatest legacies, passed down to his children and grandchildren, who continue to follow in his footsteps and cherish those same traditions.

Wesley is survived by his wife, Minnie Hooker; daughters, Kim Kirk and husband Regan, and Teresa Barnett and husband Jesse; and his grandchildren, Raley Kirk, Zachary Westbrook, Nathan Westbrook, and Mason Barnett. He is also survived by his brothers, Ray Hooker and Jesse Hooker and wife Celia; his uncle, Damon Doss and wife Artie; and numerous special nephews who held a cherished place in his heart.

Wesley will be remembered for his steady presence, his dedication to family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
