Walter "Milton" Tuckness of Junction, TX who passed from this life on Friday, April 22, 2016, was born in Mason, TX on February 8, 1935 to Robert Lee and Myrle (Ward) Tuckness.

Milton graduated from Junction High School in 1955, joining the U. S. Army before finishing school. He spent the remainder of his military service in Germany.

While working in Ozona after discharge, he met and married Juanita Oathout and her son David, whom he later adopted. After spending a few years in Altus, OK, the family moved to Phoenix, AZ. He later purchased and ran two very successful hardware stores there until retirement in 1988. In 1973, Milton and Juanita obtained custody of their grandson John, raising him in Phoenix until their retirement.

Milton moved his family to Junction in 1988, where he participated actively in the community. Among the activities, he subsequently served on the City Council, worked with the Junction Golf Association, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include John Tuckness, wife Alice, and son Jacob of New Braunfels, TX; David Tuckness of San Angelo, TX; and Eddie and Debbie Tuckness of Junction, TX; also surviving him are multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins that adore their ''Uncle Milt."

In lieu of floral tributes, the family request that memorials be made to the Junction Ministerial Alliance, in care of the First Presbyterian Church in Junction, TX.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Junction, TX with Rev. John Curry officiating. Interment will follow at Junction City Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the Vietnam Veterans Association along with Masonic Funeral Rites offered by the Junction City Masonic Lodge #548 A.F. & A. M.
