Robert Daniel Weitz

Robert Daniel Weitz, affectionately known as "Bob," was born on January 12, 1940, in Inez, Texas, to Elvira Singer and Frank Weitz. He passed away on November 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends at his cherished home overlooking the Llano River.

Bob graduated from Industrial High School in 1958, where he excelled as an athlete. Demonstrating a spirit of commitment and service, he chose to defer two college football scholarships to work, later serving three years in the Army Reserve. After his military service, Bob embarked on a successful career in the oil industry, working for Baker Oil Tools for 14 years before founding Top Tool Company. This family business flourished under Bob's leadership for 26 years, with his wife, Elsie, and their children playing integral roles in its success until its sale in 1997.

Bob's life was marked by both joy and sorrow. He faced the heartbreaking loss of his beloved son, Glen, who tragically died in a car accident in 1990. In 1996, he endured the devastating loss of his devoted wife of 30 years, Elsie, who succumbed to cancer after a courageous three-year battle, leaving a profound void in Bob’s life.

Despite these challenges, Bob remained steadfast in his faith, serving God as a lifelong Catholic and nurturing a caring spirit. He found solace in his passions, which included fishing, hunting, raising cattle, and riding horses. Additionally, he took great joy in acquiring and caring for land, which became one of his most fulfilling hobbies.

Thirteen years after losing Elsie, Bob found love once more when he met Beverly. Through their union, Bob’s family grew, welcoming five stepchildren and their spouses, 22 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Bob is survived by his wife Beverly Weitz; two children, Glenda (Tony) Alford and Doyle (Renee) Weitz; five beautiful grandchildren, Kati (Brother) Frommeyer, Joshua & Karoline Alford, Chet & Chainey Weitz; and two great-grandchildren, Elsie Ann & Wells Anthony Frommeyer. His legacy also includes four brothers: Gerald (Lynn) Weitz, Ronnie Weitz, Herb (Karen) Weitz, and Mark Weitz.

He will be reunited with his beloved Elsie, his son Glen Weitz, his parents Elvira and Frank Weitz, three sisters, Lula Mae Mueller, Rosalie Hosier, and Betty Schneider, and two brothers, Royce Glen and Thomas Weitz.
