Ricky Lee Davis

Ricky Lee Davis went home to live eternally with his maker on August 15, 2024-just one month shy of his 70th birthday. Ricky was born in Junction, Texas to Willam Abner Davis and Wanda Joy Porter Davis on September 17, 1954. He was the third of four children. Ricky attended school in Junction. His sixth-grade year, he went to school one day during hunting season. The family had plenty of deer meat that winter.

Ricky met and married the love of his life Sandra Kay Hornsby. They were married on August 9, 1974. They remained happily married until Sandie passed on September 4, 2023. Ricky was hard working and contributed to the local economy most of his life. When his children were young, he hauled cedar, drove an eighteen-wheeler and guided hunters. He also leased land for ranching cattle and goats. He loved his years of guiding at the Moody Ranch often telling stories about his guiding buddies and the big-name fellas he got to meet and guide over the years. Mid-life, Ricky and his dad started their own dirt work business. Davis Bulldozing cleared pastures, built and maintained dirt roads and house pads.

Ricky was proud of his accomplishments, loved his family and love the Lord.

Ricky is preceded in death by his wife Sandie; both his parents, Ab and Wanda Davis; in-laws, Sherwood and Bernice Hornsby; brother-in-law, Pete Tulcus; and sister-in-law, Sarah Hornsby as well as other loved family and friends.

Those left to honor his memory include siblings: Dwight Davis and wife Barbara, Wayne Davis and wife Vicky and Helen Wissner. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Sherry and husband Curtis Hobbs and brother-in-law, Jimmy Hornsby; three children, Misty and husband Scott Phillips, son, Greg Davis; daughter, Zane and her husband Edward Anguiano; fifteen grandchildren, Asa Allen Plumley and wife Marti, Parker Lee Plumley and wife Grayson, Ian Davis Plumley and Addie Fusig, Christopher Schaefer, Walker Lee Davis, Kenzi Kay Davis, Sandra Morgan Davis, Rikki Nicole Aguiano, JP Aguiano, Alissa and husband Keelin Stringo and Caitlyn Anguiano; three great-grandchildren, Abner Allen Plumley, Indy Lee Plumley, Marshall Stringo and two more on the way.
