Olga Maldonado

Olga Menchaca Maldonado, 80, passed suddenly on October 25, 2018 at a hospital in Fredericksburg. She was born in Junction, TX on February 25, 1938 to Felix and Luisa Menchaca.

Olga graduated from Junction High School with honors in 1957 and married Steve Maldonado on May 17, 1958. They shared 49 years together until his death.

Olga is also preceded in death by brothers, Conrado and Rojelio Menchaca.

Olga leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Virgil and Lisa Maldonado; her much loved granddaughter, Amanda Joyce Maldonado; sister, Bacilia Castillo, who took care of her as a big sister for 80 years; brothers, Oscar and Hector Menchaca, who were always there for her; all from Junction, TX.

Olga was very active in St. Theresa Catholic Church and was part of the handmaidens. She was a homemaker and worked at Concho Valley Head Start. We will miss her beaming smile, her incredible pinto beans, and her kind heart who welcomed all of Virgil's friends into her home. ''Our journey doesn't end when we do, our song goes on.''

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Father Innocent Eziefule officiating.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held 6:00 PM, Sunday, with visitation starting at 5:00 PM, at Kimble Funeral Home.
