Monna Etheredge

Monna McLendon Etheredge died on September 19, 2026 from a long battle of natural causes. Thankfully, her death was peaceful and without a shadow of a doubt, she is in the arms of Jesus, her beloved savior. She was in the loving, exceptional care of Country Village Nursing Home in Angleton,Texas. The staff there was amazing the whole time she was in their care; along with the wonderful team of Choice Hospice who provided loving, respectful care for her as well until the end. Our family was truly blessed by all of the earth angels Jesus provided.

Monna was born and raised in Junction, Texas. Her birthday was July 15, 1939. Over the course of her life she married and divorced then set out to raise her three children. Monna eventually became a nurse and worked close to 40 years before her health declined. She remarried later to Neel Etheredge whom she sadly lost in 2008. She loved reading and making photo albums. She was full of life, loved fiercely and completely; she was known to be sweet, stubborn and feisty too! “If you know, you KNOW!” But that made her interesting and fun to be with. She had a lot of great stories. She will be missed for sure.

Visitation and service will be held on Friday, September 25th, 2026 at Kimble Funeral Home, 1010 College Street, Junction, Texas at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow service at the Junction Cemetery.

Monna was preceded in death by her husband Neely Jones Etheredge of Canyon Lake, Tx; her parents: E. Mitchell McLendon,1st, and mother; Tempie Boone McLendon Reynolds; her brother, Mitchell McLendon II and sister, Marsha McLendon of Junction, Tx; one son: Kelly Brent Couey of Florida. Multiple other family members.

Monna is survived by her daughter, Tempie Lee Couey Soell and husband Jeffrey A. Soell of Angleton, TX; son, Kirby Lane Couey of Florida; grandson, Jarrett Ray Stroud and granddaughter Kaitlyn Grace Soell of Angleton, TX; twin great-grandsons, Hunter Ray Stroud and Fisher Lee Stroud.
