Michael Winkle

Junction It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Michael Van Winkle, Sr., announce the passing of our loved one who went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2011. Michael was 53 years old.

Michael was born in Akron, Colorado to the late Edward and Janie Samora Van Winkle. Michael was a truck driver who enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. When not in his 18wheeler, Michael could be seen riding through town on his quotscooterquot Harley. He was a proud quotPaPaquot who had a special place in his heart for the grandchildren he loved so dearly.

Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his wife Becky Van Winkle of Junction one son, Michael Van Winkle, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Junction two daughters Regina and husband, Moses Castillo of Junction, and Ashley Van Winkle and fianceacutee Ivan Odio of San Antonio five grandchildren, Michael Van Winkle, III, Harley Madison Castillo, Kenna Renee Van Winkle, Honor Deegan Castillo, and Ivley Klei Odio five brothers, Elias Barrera of Rocksprings, Eddie Van Winkle of Junction, Bill Van Winkle of San Antonio, Ricky Van Winkle of San Angelo, and Tommy Van Winkle of Sonora two sisters, Alicia Avila of Rocksprings and Peggy Taylor of Austin one uncle, Eloy Samora of Rocksprings and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents his sister Gail Van Winkle and his niece Lauren Ashley Taylor.

ation will be held Saturday, October 28, 2011 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Junction with the Rev. Ken Bolton officiating. Graveside services will follow at Junction City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is kindly requesting that memorial contributions be made to assist in defraying funeral expenses.
