Merrilee Ann Lewis, 83, passed away on January 8, 2026, in Menard, Texas. Born on October 12, 1942, in Castle, Pennsylvania, Merrilee was the beloved daughter of Floyd Rex and Urla Coulter, both of whom have predeceased her, as has her brother, Howard Coulter, and her husband, Jerry Lewis.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Robin Conner of Junction, Texas; four grandchildren, Madeline Dodson of Junction, Holley Blankenship and her husband Justen of Kermit, Texas, Blade Dodson and his wife Ali of Junction, and Aliyah Dodson of San Antonio; five great-grandchildren, Londynn, Amelia, Stetson, Ellory, and Braxton. Merrilee is also survived by her two sisters, Deanna Coulter of Galveston and Cindy Joeris of Mart, Texas, along with several nieces and nephews. Merrilee had many friends in Junction and Kermit whom she loved dearly.
Early in her life, Merrilee’s family moved to Kermit, TX where she attended schools and graduated from Kermit High School. She married Jerry Lewis February 3, 1962 and they travelled the US during his time in the US Navy then settled down and made their home in Kermit. Merrilee was a devoted LVN for Winkler County Hospital for over 35 years. They adopted their daughter, Robin on May 23, 1975. After Jerry passed Merrilee moved to Junction to be closer to her daughter and family. She joined Trinity Episcopal Church in Junction where she enjoyed faith and fellowship with many dear friends. Spending time with friends and family brought her so much joy. Merrilee leaves behind a legacy of kindness and care that will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Over the past year, Merrilee enjoyed her new family of friends at Menard Manor, and appreciated Dr. Jackson and his Junction Staff for their excellent care.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Junction.
