Marie George

Marie Katherine George, 96, passed from this life on October 15, 2021 in Kerrville, Texas.

Marie was born October 16, 1924 in Fulton, Mississippi to Byron and Etta (Forbus) Howard.  She married C.A. “Aubrey” George on August 16, 1946 in Jacinto City, Texas.  Marie was a loving wife and mother.  She was very active in her children’s school and activities, and with her husband managed horse boarding stables for many years.  She was a wonderful cook and loved preparing food for her family and friends.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Galena Park, then Memorial Baptist of Channelview, and finally First Baptist Church of Junction.

Marie is preceded in death by her husband; son, Danny George; brothers, Victor Howard, Ralph Howard, Fred Howard, Pat Howard; sister, Josephine George; grandson, Russell Craig; and son-in-law, Jerry Craig.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Betty George Craig of Junction; grandchildren, James George of Fort Worth, and Jeri De Feo of Dallas; six great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; two great-great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private committal services will be held at San Jacinto Memorial Park in Houston.

Memorials may be made to Kimble County Meals on Wheels, or to the church or charity of your choice.
