Lonnie N. Wallis

Lonnie Norris Wallis was born in Coleman, Texas, on February 15, 1946; to parents, Charlie and Helen Wallis. He left his struggles behind from his ranch home in Junction, Texas, on March 29, 2024, at the age of 78. He grew up in and around San Angelo. He joined the Navy in 1966 and served active duty until 1968. In 1969 he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Lynch. He was a master mechanic for most of his adult life. Later he owned and operated Wallis Auto Sales. He retired after many years due to health issues. He never lost his love for rebuilding cars and trucks. He was actively working on vehicles, even on his scooter, until his death.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of fifty-four years and six children, Rene White, Cl (Angela) Wallis, Bobbie (Dant) Hughes, Zackary (Shelly) Wallis, Debi (Jake) Biggs, and Tiffany Wallis. Special daughter, Jennifer (Jon) Steckman and special son, Ranjan (Meredith) George. His legacy continues with 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, with a fifth arriving soon. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Morris Wallis; sister, Gwen and Kenneth Baker (brother-in-law), and sister-in-law Linda Wallis. His surviving siblings are brother, Charlie Wallis; sisters, Jane Parker, Roberta Christopher, and Lorna (David) Bunger. 

We would like to thank Rehab Hospice of San Angelo. Without them our journey would have been unbearable. 

In lieu of flowers, donations would be nice to the above. Lonnie requested not to have a service as many of his friends are no longer living. Instead, he requested a get together with close family and friends to sit and visit, and eat all his favorite foods. Our family will honor his requests at a later date.
