Lawrence Castleberry

Junction Lawrence Riley L.R. Castleberry, Jr. was born November 10, 1946 to Lawrence and Mary Lee Castleberry in Menard, Texas. He died August 16, 2011 in Kimble Hospital, Junction, TX.

L.R. attended Menard schools and graduated from Menard High School in 1966. He attended Cisco Jr. College and East Texas State University. He worked for the Greenville, TX police department as a police officer and detective from 19691977. He then moved to the Texas Hill Country and worked for the Kerr County Sheriffs Dept. for a time. He worked in wildlife management of both native and exotic game and as a hunting guide during most of his time in the Hill Country. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He became a real estate salesperson in the 1980s and had a successful career in real estate sales working for Aaberg and Associates in Kerrville, TX, Schulegan and Associates in Kerrville and Junction and Junction Ranch Real Estate.

He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Sue Shields Clint of Dripping Springs, TX and Krista Lee Roberts Rance of Kerrville, TX grandsons, Braden Shields, Reid Shields, Mason Roberts, Fisher Roberts and Luke
Roberts father, Lawrence Castleberry, Sr. of Menard, TX sisters, Gail Bryant of Brady, TX, Terry Zimmerman and Mary Murr of Junction, TX one brother, Gary Castleberry of Coleman, TX along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Lee Castleberry.

Funeral Services will be held at 9 AM, Thursday, August 18, 2011 in the Chapel of Kimble Funeral Home, 1010 College St., Junction, TX officiated by Mike Riley, Minister. Interment will follow in the Menard Resthaven Cemetery, Menard, TX,
