Laverne Hardin was 86 years old when she when to be with the Lord on January 26th.

Laverne was born to Scrap and Helen Morgan she grew up and lived most of her life in Junction Texas.  She graduated from Junction High School as Salutatorian in 1954.  Laverne found the love of her life when she married Holbert Hardin on July 13, 1963.  She always said his swagger lit up the room.  They loved to go dancing and waterskiing.

Laverne was a very successful and hardworking businesswoman; she owned and ran Morgan Shady Park and together with her husband Holbert they owned and operated Hardin Plumbing Co Inc. Laverne enjoyed being an active member of her community and served as councilperson for the city of Junction. She had fun participating with the Democratic party in Kimble County and even got the opportunity to attend a state convention as a delegate.  She was active with the scouts and served as Den Mother for Pack 420 as well as serving on the committee for many years. Laverne loved a party.  Her annual Super Bowl parties were almost as famous as the birthday parties she threw. Laverne was also an avid reader; she was recently rereading Gone with the Wind again.  She excelled at many creative pursuits including quilting, painting and any crafting.  He favorite thing ever though may have been spoiling her grandchildren rotten.  She lit up every time she got to spend time with them or even just to talk about them and show off pictures to anyone who might listen.

Laverne was preceded in death by her parents Helen and Scrap Morgan. Her husband Holbert Hardin. Her son Jay Hardin.  Sister Dorothy Burch.

Laverne is survived by her daughter Vicki and granddaughter Ashley, her son Hardy and his wife Cindy with their 3 children AJ, Sophia and Bert.   Jays Wife Becky and their son James.  Grandsons Troy and Todd Hardin. Her sister Karon, nephew Ted Morgan and his wife Georgia. Niece Debi McDonald and husband Michael.  Niece Jan Bertram. Laverne also left many friends she loved as family.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, January 30, 2023 at Kimble Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Pullen officiating.  Interment will follow at Junction City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5-7:00 PM, Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Kimble Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to” BSA troop 318” care of Guadalupe National Bank, 1309 Bandera Highway, Kerrville TX 78028
