Kathryn “Kay” Vierling Norris, 96, of Junction passed from this life on March 8, 2026 at her residence.

Kay was born June 18, 1929 in San Antonio to George and Pat Stevens Vierling, and grew up living in Dallas and Junction. As a young woman, Kay showed horses in horse shows. Kay married the love of her life Joe Norris, Jr. on June 20, 1953 at the Vierling Ranch in Junction. Throughout her life, she was very active in church in Abilene and Junction, serving as an elder and leader of Women of Church. Kay enjoyed travelling in the Airstream trailer with her husband Joe. Playing Bridge and competing in Bridge tournaments was another of her hobbies. She was also active in going to shows with the Roadrunners; and enjoyed many activities, shopping, and travelling with Joyce Alexander, Rosemary Hoggett, Polly Cowsert and Dorothy Murr. She most loved being with her daughters, Sally and Ann and she loved dogs. Overall, Kay enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Joe Norris.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Sally Shomaker and husband Mike, and Ann Norris; nephews, Rob Brockman, Joe Brockman, and Andy Brockman; and cousins, Trudy Weems, Cade Taylor, Collin Taylor, and Peggy Bendle.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Junction City Cemetery with Rev. Jim and Rev. Laurie Barker officiating.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Junction or the Kimble Hospital Foundation.
