Junction Kathryn Greer Kothmann died on August 19, 2011 at the age of 95 in the Hill Country Care Center in Junction, TX. Kathryn was born on November 20, 1915 in Ballinger, TX to James E. and Oma Greer.
She graduated from Eden High School receiving a musical scholarship to Mary Harden Baylor University, where she received a degree in music. Kathryn married Rankin Kothmann in 1935. Rankin became Superintendent of Schools in Junction, TX in 19 where Kathryn also taught and retired as a Junior High School English teacher.
Kathryn will be remembered as the person who always had time to help others and her endless energy for service. She was the organist at First Baptist Church, Junction, TX for 55 years and played for weddings, funerals, and celebrations needing an organist. Kathryn played by ear and could play most any song after hearing a few chords and words.
She was preceded in death by her parents husband, Rankin Kothmann one brother, Dr. Bill Greer and soninlaw, Jack Gardner.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are daughters, Judy Gardner, Beth Clay and husband Dewain son, Greer Kothmann and wife Suzi, all of Junction, TX along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.
Pallbearers to serve will be grandchildren and spouses Kelley Natalie Kothmann, Curt Jennifer Kneese, Gary Robin Gardner, Lou Zane Burleson, and Gina Ashley.
ation will be held from 5 7 PM, Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Kimble Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, August 21, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Junction, TX officiated by Pastor Morris Cook and Pastor Ken Bolton. A reception will follow services at the church. Interment will be in the London Cemetery, London, TX.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions can be forwarded the charity of ones choice.
