Katherine Burleson

K. Darlene Burleson, 63 went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. She passed away at her home in London, Texas.

Darlene was born in Dallas, Texas on August 10, 1952. Darlene met her husband Mike in 1972 and they were married in 1974, and had a son, Mike Jr. in 1984. Darlene was a medical transcriptionist her entire life.

Mike and Darlene moved to London in 2010 to help take care of Mike's Father, and also having always wanted to live there. Darlene loved raising baby goats, planting flowers, and feeding the birds, but her main passion was taking care of her girl puppies, Ginger and Josey. Everyone that knew Darlene knew that she could spoil any puppy in 30 seconds flat.

Darlene was also a devoted member of London Baptist Church and loved and appreciated all of the members there.

Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Ernest M. Thomas (born 2-2-18, died 1-12-2002); and her mother, Opal Daniel Thomas (born 10-8-1918, died 3-12-2010).

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Mike Burleson; her son, Mike Jr.; brother, Ernest W. Thomas and wife Susan; and nephew, James Thomas of Gladewater Texas. Darlene is also survived by her brother-in-law, David Burleson and wife Paula and their children, David II, Christy, and Andrew.

A memorial service for Darlene will be planned and held in the future as she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
