Julie Loftis

Julie Carlina Loftis (8/20/1975), 47, went to Heaven to be with her late husband on 12/07/22.  She is preceded in death by her father (Dean Loftis), husband (Chuck Sweeney), aunt (Julia Robles), and uncles (Tony Robles, Ernesto Gonzales, Conrado Menchaca, Beto Gonzales, and Alejandro Gonzales Jr).  She is survived by her mother (Francisca Gonzales), nephew (Dayton McCowin), sister (Danita Loftis), brother-in-law (Greg Medlock), and aunts (Reyes Menchaca, Olivia Gonzales, Ginda Gonzales, and Jean Gonzales), and many other family members and friends.

Julie graduated from Redwater High school, obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Schreiner College, and later became a certified Radiology Tech (with the highest score in her class).
Whatever she set her mind to do, she did.  From childhood, she always had a love for animals, any animal, from lizards and robins, cats and dogs, cows and horses, and everything in between.  If there was any chance, she was going to try and save every “critter,” if it was even possible.  She designed the Sam B. Coffey Animal Shelter in Junction, Tx and assisted in securing funding for it.  Not only did she love the animals; they loved her too.   It always made her heart happy when she could handle or groom an otherwise unruly animal.  It wasn’t only her passion.  It was her gift, and everyone around her knew it.

Over the years, she volunteered and worked at several animal hospitals, shelters, and clinics.  When she worked at Lindner Animal Hospital, she befriended many people in Comfort, Texas where she later moved.  She then ventured out and started her own business, Julie’s Mobile Pet Grooming.  Her kind, happy, humble, serving heart made her business a great success.

Our hearts are broken that such a beautiful soul has left us.  But we can be comforted knowing that she was welcomed into Heaven by our Heavenly Father, Jesus, and many loved ones and that she is definitely inquiring about all of the animals there.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM on January 14, 2023 at Kimble Funeral Home, 1010 College Street.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Kimble Funeral Home (325) 446-3076
