SAN ANTONIO Jose Martin Gonzales, 44, of Kerrville, TX passed from this life to spend an eternity in Heaven on Tuesday, August, 12, 2014 in a San Antonio, TX hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 8, 1970 in Junction, TX to parents, Gonzalo Gonzalez and Maria Trinidad Sanchez Gonzalez.
Martin grew up in Junction, where he was a spunky, mischievous young boy with a contagious smile. He was a proud member of the powerful and unstoppable Junction Eagles Football Team, the sport he relished while in high school.
He was a man of merit and impeccable work ethic who took much pride in all that his father taught him, and he applied it to everyday life. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and BBQing. He always had an eye on the open range and an appreciation for natures beauty. Martin loved the majestic, raw beauty of the Colorado Mountains which he once visited.
Employed by PEC for eight years as a BLineman, he aspired to climb his way up the ladder.
We will forever be thankful to God for this precious loving individual that taught us to love and appreciate simple beauties in life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gonzalo Gonzalez, Sr. sister, Luz Gonzalez and brother, Jose Martin Gonzalez.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Gloria ArevaloGonzales stepson, Jake Levi Jimenez of Kerrville, TX sons, Nathan Gonzales and Martin Gonzales of Brady, TX his daughter, Meaghan Nicole Gonzales of Brady, TX stepsons, Rommie Gloria, Reno Alonzo and exwife, Rose Mary Gonzales all from Brady, TX.
Martin is additionally survived by his mother, Maria Trindad Gonzalez of Junction, TX, brothers spouses, Gonzalo Gonzales Jr. Blanca of Junction, TX, Gene Gonzales Mary of San Antonio, TX, and Fidencio Gonzales Patricia of Comfort, TX sisters spouses, Elvira Alvarez Juan of Sonora, TX, Reyna Lopez Jim of Ingram, TX, Anita Rojas Eloy of Kerrville, TX many loving nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends, neighbors, and coworkers who will miss him dearly.
The family wishes to graciously thank all the PEC staff for all their support, along with the Tomlinsons, the Johnsons, Child Protective Services Staff, Divinity Family Services Staff, Mount Wesley Staff, Pastor Noah Diggs.
A time of reflection and visitation will be held from 6 8 PM on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX 78028. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, August 16, 2014 in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home with Pastor Noah Diggs officiating. Interment will follow at Northeast Junction Cemetery in Junction, TX.
