Johnny Townsend

Junction Johnny D. Townsend, 66, of Junction, Texas, passed from this life on Friday, January 13, 2012 at his home.

Johnny was born January 12, 1946 in Burnet, Texas to Ray Townsend and Bertha Collier Townsend.

Johnny married the love of his life Lynda Timmons in Lovington, New Mexico on November 30, 1976.

He received multiple certification in Law enforcement he was the chief of police in Mansfield, Texas, he worked for the police department in Ferris, Texas, he worked for the sheriff department in Midland, Texas, and he was an undercover officer in Crane, Texas. He found a new love in ministry and became a minister and served his community of Junction.

He was preceded in death by his father Ray Townsend.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife Lynda, sons Johnny Ray Townsend, of Junction, Roger Townsend and wife Dana, of Crane, and Clifford Townsend, of Junction 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren his mother Bertha, and his sister Joyce Sherman, he also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

ation will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Kimble Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Junction City Cemetery.
