Johnnie Mae Lackey, 88, of Iraan, Texas passed from this life on December 27, 2016 at a hospital in Midland, Texas.

Johnnie Mae was born June 5, 1928 to John Kiser and Fannie Velma Lemons in Junction, Texas. She grew up in Junction and married Skip Lackey on December 2, 1950 in Junction.

Johnnie Mae adored her two Pomeranians, Precious and Gizmo, and always wanted to help any homeless animal. She was a giving person who wanted to feed anyone who she thought was hungry. She loved with all of her heart and soul and continued to watch over all of her family. Her husband and her children were her world. She also shared a close bond with her brothers and sisters. Johnnie Mae was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Granville O. Lackey.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Skip Lackey; daughters, Lisa Gibson, Gay Evans and husband Edward; granddaughters, Shanna Gibson and Kimber Gibson; grandsons, Edward Evans, Jr. and wife Billie, and Wesley Evans and wife Amanda; great-grandsons, Will Evans and Colton Hornsby; great-granddaughters, Kiley Huffman, Lexy Coe, and Haven Evans; brothers, Bill Adams, Ray Kiser and wife Jane; sisters, Sandra Timms and husband Nick and Lou McDowell and husband Richard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Junction City Cemetery with Pastor Donna Carroll officiating. Visitation will be held 5-7:00 PM Friday at Kimble Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
