John E. Tinney

John E. Tinney, 85, passed away on February 1, 2023.  He was the son of James Elbert “Ike” and Rena B. Jackson Tinney.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Peggy Welch, Noel Tinney, and Virginia Blakney; wife, JoAnn Fondren Tinney; and daughters, Melanie Ellis and Lora Vela.

Survivors include sisters, Phyllis Peden, Rena B. Sue; brothers, James Tinney, Glen Tinney, and Tommy Tinney; children, John E. Tinney, Jr., Ralph Tinney; grandchildren, Charley Ellis, Nathen Ellis, Wendy Ellis, Joel, Ben and Ollie Vela.

John was a veteran of the US Air Force, an excellent mechanic, and an avid fisherman.  He liked to play 42 and dominoes.  He was a loyal and faithful friend to those he cared for.  Soar High John.

The family will hold a celebration gathering at a later date.
