John Durst

John Goree Durst, 91, of Round Rock, Texas passed from this life on December 21, 2017 at a care facility in Round Rock.

John was born July 29, 1926 to Kittrell Goree and Ludye Tomberlin Durst in Junction, Texas. He attended Junction public schools and joined the US Navy in 1943. He served during World War II, was discharged in 1945, and returned to Junction. From 1950 to 1952 John attended the University of Texas at Austin, and remained a resident of Austin for 63 years. He worked in Austin as a plumber-fitter and a construction supervisor for 26 years. He was employed by R.O. Davis and J.M. Boyer, Inc. and retired in 1991. He was married 63 years. He enjoyed travelling with his wife, Charlotte, and sharing friends. His hobbies included gunsmith, learning, travelling, and gardening which included Bonsai trees.

Graveside services will be held 2PM, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Junction City Cemetery with Rev. Sam Ligon officiating.
