John Dunlap

John David Dunlap, 76, of Menard went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, TX. John was born December 8, 1936 in Stephens County, TX to parents, Carel Edward Dunlap and Maud Ellen Mannan Dunlap. John married Alma in Odessa, TX in 1956 and worked in the oilfield in West and South Texas before moving to the local area in 1976.

John was a member of Hill Country Baptist Church where he enjoyed fellowship. He also enjoyed mechanic work and could build or repair anything that was needed. John mostly liked to spend time with his family, boating, fishing, camping, and playing dominoes and Wahoo. They created many special memories which they will cherish always.

John is preceded in death by his daughter Kathleen Dunlap grandchild, Crystal Woodall and brother Douglas Dunlap.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alma Dunlap of Menard, TX daughter, Jane Young of Odessa, TX sons, David Allen Dunlap and wife Marilyn of San Angelo, TX, John Paul Dunlap and wife Anita of San Angelo, TX grandchildren, April and Ronnie Barber Heather and Gordon Spruill, Timothy Young, Jr., David Allen Dunlap Jr. and wife Beth, James Michael Dunlap and wife Marsha, Christy Dunlap, Stephanie Glenwinkel, Randy Dunlap and Christopher Dunlap and Candice greatgrandchildren Laken, Ashley, Blake, Krystal, Zackary, Kaylee, Baleigh, Kaytlin, Adelyn, James, Emily, Alexis and Aaron great greatgrandchild, Brexton brothers Joe Ross Dunlap of Louisiana and Melton Dunlap and wife Dottie of Graham, TX sisters Betty Lou Smith of Bullard, TX and Sally Patterson of Andrews, TX numerous other relatives and a host of many loving friends and neighbors that will miss him dearly.

ation will held from 57 PM, Friday, November 22, 2013 at Kimble Funeral Home, 1010 College Street, Junction, TX 76849.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Hill Country Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Ogle officiating. Interment will follow in Junction City Cemetery.
