Jo Meredith

Billie Jo Isaacs Meredith, age 81, of Junction, passed away at Hill Country Care Center on July 11, 2013.

She was the oldest girl of four siblings born to Robert F. Isaacs and Katherine OHarrow Isaacs in Eldorado, Texas. She attended and graduated from Austin High School in Austin, Texas in 1949. She and Smokey got married on June 16, 1949. They made their home in Junction.

In 1959, they adopted Cynthia Cindy Meredith. In 1962, they added another adopted child to the family, Mark Adrian Meredith, to make their family complete. Cindy resides in Lampasas, Texas, while her son, Eric Ryan Crumley and wife, Felisa, and their two children, Coby Ryan and Brielle Marie, live in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mark resides with his wife, Tracie, and their two children, Wesley Aaron and Kellie Nicole, in Keller, Texas. Jo is also survived by two sisters, Jewel Stewart of Buda, Texas and Delores Martin and husband, Alton, as well as eight nieces and nephews.

Jo served in the First Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher for many years, enjoying the opportunity to minister to young girls and encourage them in their walk with the Lord. She was a member of the choir and had a beautiful alto voice. She also sang duets with Sam Coffey on occasion. She also could be found in the church kitchen helping to prepare and serve delicious meals for many different occasions through the years. Jo loved to cook. She was especially known for her pies, her fudge and divinity, her brownies, cakes and casseroles. She always had a yummy treat ready at home for whomever dropped by. The neighborhood children always knew where the cookie cabinet was and would head straight for it when they came in her door. Jo loved children and enjoyed many summers helping in Vacation Bible School when Cindy and Mark were young.

The family held a private burial early in the day on Saturday, July 13, 2013. Then a Memorial Celebration of Life Service was held later that day at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Junction. Jo loved her life in Junction. She and Smokey celebrated 59 years of marriage on June 16, 2008. They spent many years in the company of friends and family, which were very important to them both. Jo is finally Home, in Heaven with the Lord, and her family and friends know they will see her again someday.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Kimble Funeral Home 3254463076
