Janice Marie Stockton

Janice Marie Barker Stockton, 78, of Junction, Texas, passed away on August 30, 2025, in Kerrville. Born August 2, 1947, in Brady, she was the daughter of Marvin Andrew “Percy” Harvison and Myrtle Mae Jowers Harvison, and later adopted by Clovis Alvin Barker. A 1965 graduate of Junction High School, Janice earned her degree from Southwest Texas State University and dedicated 30 years to teaching business, accounting, and computer applications at Junction High School, where she inspired generations of students.

She is survived by her daughters, Janel (Shawn) Murff and LeAnn (Dan) Smith; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her half-brother, Clovis Ray Barker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clovis and Myrtle Barker, her son-in-law, James Alan Brawley, and her great-grandson, Hunter Alan Brawley.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Junction First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that her memory be honored with a random act of kindness or a donation to Kimble County Library, Kimble County Meals on Wheels, or Peterson Hospice of Kerrville.
