JUNCTION James W. Keeton Sr., 73, of Menard, Texas, passed from this life at Kimble Hospital on Thursday, April 19, 2012.

Born on May 1, 1938, in San Angelo, Texas, he was the son of Hollis and Ollie Douning Keeton. He married Nancy Rust on January 30, 1960 and graduated from the University of Texas with a Degree in Accounting in 1961. After graduating, he resided in Lubbock a few years, they then moved to San Antonio, Texas where he practiced Accounting until 2002, when he moved to the Family Ranch in Kimble County.

Mr. Keeton is predeceased by his parents wife, Nancy Rust Keeton and a brother.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his daughter, Kathryn Keeton of California son, James W. Keeton, Jr. of Menard, Texas grandson, Jordan Keeton and granddaughter Rachel A. Keeton both of Junction, Texas, along with a host of many friends and neighbors.

James was a good, loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. His passions in life were fly fishing and leatherwork. He was a pioneer in saltwater fly fishing and a master rod builder and fly tier. He traveled to many destinations and enjoyed catching different species on fly. His favorites were Tarpon and Redfish. James also grew up working in a saddle shop in San Angelo, Texas where he perfected the art of leather. His talent and craft will allow him to be remembered for many years to come and provide great pleasure to those who have his creations. He met many interesting people through his passions of fly fishing and leather work.

He was a life member and Past President of Trout Unlimited and active in the Coastal Conservation Association, along with other Fishing and Conservation groups.

James enjoyed life to the fullest and never passed on an opportunity to go fishing or share his knowledge with someone. One of his greatest joys were his grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in the Chapel of Kimble Funeral Home with the Rev. James Barker officiating.

The family suggests memorials be forwarded to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018 or to the charity of ones choice.
