Henry Jacoby

Henry Ray Jacoby, 87, of Junction, Texas passed away on April 2, 2015 at his residence.

Ray was born the second of twin boys on July 9, 1927 at home on the Tom Hunt Ranch in the east end of Schleicher Co. to Thomas John and Letha Ann Menzies Jacoby. At sixteen, the family moved to the ranch on the Divide near Telegraph, Texas, in Kimble Co. Here Ray ranched and made his home for the next 71 years. He and his twin brother Roy enlisted in the Navy after they graduated from Junction High School in 1945. WW II ended just as they finished their basic training. Ray was furloughed out to come home to work on the ranch as that was a vital industry. Roy stayed behind and finished his enlistment.

During his many years of service to the citizens of Kimble Co. Ray was a Kimble Co. Commissioner for 12 years, a member of the Junction ISD school board, a board member for the Kimble Co. Farm Bureau and served on the ASCS Committee.

In 1981 he married Jean Ellen Schwiening. They made their home at the ranch and in town. He was still involved in ranching at the time of his death. His great love and the thing he enjoyed most in life was having all of his children, extended family and friends at the ranch for BBQ's and fish fries. In fact, at the time of his death, he was planning for the Easter weekend.

Ray is survived by his wife Jean; his daughters, Janna Pridemore and husband Shane of Eldorado, Randa Sanchez and husband Willie of Junction, Ashley Craig and husband Dwayne of Junction; sons, Al Campbell of Spartanburg, S.C. and Bryan Campbell and wife Brandy of Cypress, Texas; grandchildren, Brittany Roberts and husband Cody, Lindsay Wilson and Jacob Sanchez, Lindsay, Bannon and Jacy Wilson, Strait Pridemore, Michelle and Charlie Craig, Nick Campbell and wife Shaila, Nick and Nelson Campbell, Al, Jr., Abigail and Anna Kathryn Campbell; and great-granddaughter, Peyton Valdez. He is also survived by his brothers, W. Roy Jacoby and wife Ann of Menard and Phillip Jacoby and wife Lynn of Junction along with numerous nieces and nephews.
