Junction Ruth Dobbs, 98, of Junction, Texas passed from this life at a Junction hospital on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Ruth was born on August 22, 1915 in Katemcy, Mason County, Texas to Herman Logan and Maude Lee Davenport Vandeneer.
After finishing school, she met the love of her life, Ray Dobbs, and they married on September 1, 1935 in Mason, Texas.
Ruth was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Junction, Texas. She was an artist and well known for her abilities in making quilts. Ruth was also known for her musical abilities, and she owned and operated a licensed childrens day care center for over 20 years.
One of her greatest joys in life was to grow flowers and give them to the elderly to brighten their day.
She was preceded in death by her parents husband, Ray Dobbs and son, Tommy Carl Dobbs.
Those left to honor and cherish her loving memory are her son, Charles Ray Dobbs and wife, Felecia of Kerrville, Texas four grandchildren six great grandchildren one great great grandchild her sister, Mary Jo Thompson of Corpus Christi, Texas, along with many loving friends, neighbors, and her church family who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions may be forwarded to the First Baptist Church, 202 South 8th Street, Junction, Texas 76849, or to the charity of ones choice.
A time of reflection and visitation will be held from 6 8 PM, Monday, March 3, 2014 at Kimble Funeral Home, 1010 College Street, Junction, Texas 76849. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Junction, Texas with the Rev. Ken Bolton officiating. Interment will follow at Junction City Cemetery, Junction, Texas.
