Gene Hickenbottom passed away peacefully in his home in Junction, Texas on Tuesday August 7,, 2018 at the age of 74. Born April 22, 1944 to Roy and Leota Hickenbottom in Dennison, Ohio, Gene attended school in Ragersville, Ohio before moving to Texas and marrying Carol Ann Joiner in 1966. In their 47 years of marriage, Gene and Carol raised 4 daughters and enjoyed 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Gene traveled extensively throughout the country as a professional truck driver where he recalls numerous adventures and gaining countless memories with the people he encountered. Residing in London, Texas since 1979, Gene enjoyed cooking briskets, country music, and watching baseball with Carol.

Gene is preceded in death by his twin brother Dean, his father and mother, wife Carol, brother Allen, and grandson Cody.

Carrying his memories, Gene is survived by older sister Ann, brothers Jack, Bud, and Mike, 4 daughters and their extended families.

Gene enjoyed simple things in life, good people, and his family. A smile, and his final thoughts to his daughters was him joining his wife Carol forever.

The family invites you to attend a respectful farewell tribute at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at London Cemetery. It will be very low key, family and friends reflecting on good times, and interment of the urn. Please bring your own chair.
