Fern Maples

Junction Fern E. Maples, 92, of Junction, passed from this life at a local health care facility on July 2, 2011.

Born in Somerset, TX on March 15, 1919, she was the daughter of Ben and Zuleka Nations Gates. She had been a longtime resident of Junction.

Mrs. Maples was a beautician, owning her own shop for many years.

She enjoyed playing quot42quot, crocheting and making quilts. While at the Hill Country Care Center, she enjoyed playing bingo, going on many outings with the group and was Resident Of The Month many times.

She is predeceased by her parents and her 3 children, JB Maples, Dane Maples, Sr, and Janet Maples.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her 5 grandchildren, Jeana Maples of Junction, Dane Maples, Jr. of Junction, Cheyanne Maples of Locus Grove, OK, Colton Maples of Locus Grove, OK and Brook Kotfas of Boerne 4 great grandchildren, Dolan Maples, Morgiane Maples, Keelee Maples and Taylor Kotfas 3 sisters, Peggy Arp of Brunswick, MO, Doris Wright of Austin, TX, Sannie Foster of San Antonio 1 brother, Jerry Gates of Santa Fe, NM and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A graveside service will be held at Junction City Cemetery on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 3PM.

The family suggests that donations in her name be made to the Activities Fund of Hill Country Care Center, 111 Hospital Dr, Junction, TX 76849.
