Evelyn Jo Davis

Evelyn “Jo" Davis of London, TX went to be with our Lord on Aug. 3, 2021. She was born on May 15th, 1939 in London, TX to J.V. Welch & Mary Thelma Proctor.

She was preceded by her husband, Henry Davis Sr., her sisters, Virgie Robbins and Dean Wimberley; and her brother, Clifton Welch.

She is survived by her sisters, Opal Childress and Janet Dawson; her children and their families, Darla & Russell Thompson, Henry Davis Jr., Phyllis Davis and Vernon & Reba Davis. She leaves behind 5 grandchildren and wives, Joshua & Rochelle Thompson, Jeffery & Kellie Thompson, Joseph Davis, Ashley Davis and Michael Davis. She also leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren, Abbygail & Hailey Thompson, Keegan, Jayden and Rowan Thompson; and many other extended family members and friends as well.

Jo was a very active member of the London Ladies Auxiliary and London Volunteer Fire Department up until health issues forced her to retire. Many Fire fighters used to call her “Momma Jo" and she fed them all many sandwiches over the years. Mason, Menard, Hext, Brady and many other fire departments were fed by her hands over the years. Her Dedication and Willingness to help will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will be held 3:00PM, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at London Cemetery with Rev. Jim Barker officiating.
