Junction Edward H. quotEddiequot VanWinkle passed from this life, at a local hospital, to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the age of 74.
Born on October 15, 1935 south of Akron, CO, Ed was the son of Paul and Tracy Ruhauuk Van Winkle.
He was predeceased by his parents his brothers, Rip and Elmer his sisters, Pauline and Alpha, all of CO a daughter, Gail Ann of Rocksprings and a granddaughter, Lauren of Austin.
Ed was a long haul trucker for 55 years, hauling livestock, grain and various other products over 48 states and Canada. He never saw a stranger and never refused anyone help. He was loved and respected by family, friends and everyone that knew him.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Lee sons, Eddy, Jr and Michael and his wife, Rebecca, all of Junction Bill and his wife, Melinda, of San Antonio Rick of San Angelo and Tommy and his wife, Felicia, of Sonora grandson, Casey whom Ed raised from a baby his daughters, Peggy and her husband, Mike, of Austin, and Kelli Rae of Ingram numerous grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, great grandchildren nephews one niece and one sisterinlaw, Allie of CO.
ation will be at Kimble Funeral Home, 1010 College St, Junction, on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 2:00PM8:00PM.
Graveside services and committal will be held at Barksdale Cemetery, Barksdale, TX on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 10:30AM, with Monte Ward officiating.
Pall bearers will be Bill Chapman, James Palacio, Jackie Merritt, Tommy Ward, Ronnie Eckhart and Joe Arredondo.
The family has requested that, in lieu of memorials, any gifts be made to help defray funeral expenses. These gifts may be made payable to the Ed VanWinkle Fund at First State Bank, Junction, Texas.
