David Owen Teel, Jr, passed from this life Friday, March 29, 2024, in Austin, Texas at Seton Hospital. David died of a "broken heart" as his beloved wife Wanda passed just over two months before him. He was born February 28, 1958 in Fredericksburg, Texas. He was a giant of a man in this community with a heart just as big. He lived his life in God's order: God, his wife, his family, then his community. He grew up in the Junction First Baptist Church and in 2016, became a Deacon of the church. David was a member of the Junction Volunteer Fire Department for over 46 years, he also worked for the City Police department, and he worked 27 years at the South Llano River State Park and retired from there, he also worked part time for the City of Junction at the city water plant. His last years he spent mostly ranching and spending time with his Grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his wife Wanda, his Grandparents, "Lum" and Juanita Allsup, Houston and Lela Teel and his Dad, David O. Teel, Sr.
He is survived by his mother Sallye Teel; two brothers, Jimmy Teel and Stephen Teel; step-son, Jerry, wife Becky, children Cade, Elise and Ainsley Insall; son, Josh Teel, and daughter Vanessa (Teel) and husband Corey and children Steven, Owen and Lilly Childress.
David and Wanda were both a vital part of this community and will be sorely missed by all.
