Clinton Mack
Newbury
July 6, 1951 – April 11, 2026
Clinton Mack Newbury, 74, of Junction, Texas, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Kimble Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Kimble Funeral Home in Junction, Texas.
Mack was born July 6, 1951, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Clint and Bonny Newbury. He graduated from Junction High School in 1969. Mack was deeply involved in the Junction community throughout his life. In 2022, after his health began to decline, he stepped back from many of the activities that had long been such an important part of his life. Even so, Mack remained a huge cheerleader for all kids, but especially for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking great pride in their accomplishments and supporting them every chance he could.
He worked for over 20 years at Loeffler Motor Company until the business closed, after which he went to work at Metco, where he spent the next 10 years until they closed, and then he retired. Alongside his career, Mack devoted more than 20 years of service to the Junction Volunteer Fire Department. He played a crucial role in grant writing and fundraising efforts, enabling a new firehouse to be completed in 1982, leaving a lasting impact on the safety and future of the community he loved.
Mack was also passionately involved in youth baseball and softball programs over the years, supporting his children and later his grandchildren. Until recent years, there was very little happening in Junction that Mack did not have a hand in. He believed strongly in showing up, lending a hand, and investing in the people and places that meant the most to him.
Mack had a deep love for music and was an extremely talented guitar player with a beautiful voice. Over the years, he played with several local groups and friends at the nursing home, the farmers market, church functions, and other community gatherings. The last group he played with was the Junction Country Band. The men he shared music with were more than bandmates — he considered them true friends. Music was one of the many ways Mack connected with others and brought joy to those around him.
Mack will be remembered for his dedication, his willingness to serve, and the steady presence he provided to his family, friends, and community. His life reflected commitment, generosity, and a deep love for Junction and its people.
Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Bonny Newbury, and his brother, Mike Newbury.
Mack is survived by his children, Jamey Newbury and Nicole and PeeWee Tomlinson, all of Junction. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Daniel Newbury and Stormie; Desirae and RV Villanueva; Sakota Tomlinson; Chace and Kelsey Tomlinson; Cameron and Jaci Tomlinson; and Briley Tomlinson and Heidi; great-grandchildren and his BFFs, Zane, Raylee Bell, Wilder J, Creed, Korgan, Ryder, and Raiden. He is also survived by his siblings, Jamie and Sandra Newbury of Paradise, Texas; Amy and Ricky Randle of Midland, Texas; and Linda and James Roy of Baytown, Texas; and 40 nieces and nephews, who, even though not listed by name here, meant the world to him. Mack’s life will be honored and remembered by all who knew and loved him, and his presence in the community of Junction will be sorely missed.
