Clarence Conway Childress Jr. born in Wichita Falls Tx to Conway & Opal Welch Childress in 1959. He was the second of six children.

Preceded in death by paternal grandparents Elza and Susie Hyde and maternal grandparents Vernon and Thelma Welch, Uncle Franklin Hyde, Aunt and Uncle Virgie & Gordon Robbins, Aunt and Uncle Dean & Don Wimberly, and cousins Bobby Owen and Deby Lang

Survived in death by his parents Conway & Opal Childress of London, Tx. His three kids Jacob Austin Childress (Haley) of Junction, KayLeigh Ann Childress of Junction, Tx, Courtney Rene Baker ( Jakob ) of Orange Grove, Tx, His ex wife Wendie Childress of Corpus Christi, Tx, His grandchildren Jason Childress, Chelsey Baker, Chloe Baker, and Jayton Baker. Siblings Sesa Childress Edgar of Houston, Steve (Karen ) Childress of Corpus Christi, Tx, Dena Cobble of Oolagah, Oklahoma, Scherri Kroeker (Tom) of Granger, Tx and Angie LeBouef (Paul) of TomBall, Tx.

Clarence known lovingly as Yogi grew up in Columbus Texas, Moving to Austin in High School. He had many fond memories of his years in both Columbus and Austin, frequently taking trips to see how the old neighborhood looked. He eventually moved to Corpus Christi where he worked at Larson Plumbing for many years. He studied at Del Mar college and earned his journeyman's license in 1992.

He met and later married his wife and lifelong friend Wendie in corpus. They married in May 1992, His son Jacob Austin was born in 1993, and a few years later Kayleigh Ann was born in 1997. Yogi loved all three of his children which included Courtney Rene and loved Corey as a son.

Yogi was injured in 1998 and a long battle began as he underwent several surgeries which left him disabled. But despite his bad days he always had a smile, a warm heart, and a helping hand for anyone in need. Many Children came and went in Yogis life.

In 2001 during his divorce he moved to Junction Texas, becoming a member of the First Baptist Church and Springs of Life Emmaus Community. He also participated in varies other community activities. He thoroughly enjoyed the Wild Game Dinners every year.

He was very active with his community, and had many friends that he cherished.

In Sept 2014 Yogi was diagnosed with stage four Lung Cancer. After a long year of treatment and care at MD Anderson in Houston Texas he went to be with the Lord Sept 23, 2015. While surrounded by his loving children.
