Junction Rev. Cecil David Conner passed away on July 22 at the Kimble Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.

Cecil was born September 4, 1946 in Junction, Texas to Glenn and Ethel Wagner Conner. Cecil graduated from Junction High School as a proud Eagle in 1964.

Cecil married the love of his life Donleta Bundick on October 1, 1966.

Cecil was licensed and ordained into the ministry in 1976 through the Gospel Ministerial Alliance, serving as an assistant to the Pastor of the Junction Full Gospel Church. In 1980, Cecil was selected as Pastor of the Junction Full Gospel Church, a position he kept until ill health forced his retirement in 2009. Cecil also holds a Bachelor of divinity Degree from Grace Apostolic Bible College.
Cecil worked part time at Kimble Funeral Home, was the Chaplin for the Junction Fire Department, and a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Cecil played drums and guitar and sang in Country dance bands throughout his teen years and early adult years. He had a love for history and geology. Cecil was quotThe Rockquot of the Conner family.

Cecil is preceded by his parents sisters, Billie Jean and Darlene brothers, Felton, Edward, and Melvin.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife Donleta, his son Cecil Martin Conner and wife Robin, of Junction and his daughter Nicole Weber of Junction eight grandchildren Amanda Stewart, Madeline Dodson, Holley Dodson, Blade Dodson, Aliyah Dodson, Dustin Huntley, Matthew Weber, and Tiffany Weber and one great grandson Christian Stewart sisterinlaws, Geneva Conner, Faye Conner, Jean Bundick brotherinlaw, David Bundick and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. His oldest nephew, Jimmy Floyd, was affectionately referred to as his little brother due to closeness in age.

Pallbearers will be Nick Timms, Dwight Davis, Rob Roy Spiller, Carlos Vasquez, Gayland Harrison, Chap Traylor, Ron Simmons, and Richard Miller. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy Timms, Sr., Virgil Russell, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Daughters of Confederate Veterans, all Uniform Reenactors, Richard Brown, Justin Bridges, Jimmy Riley, Sonny Peyton, and Paul Cook.

ation will be held from 6:008:00 PM, Saturday, July 23, 2011at Kimble Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Kimble Funeral Home interment will follow at Junction City Cemetery.
