Carroll Alex Sonny Williams Jr., 81 of Junction, passed from this earthly world on January 26, 2014.

Sonny was born on December 6, 1932 in Monahans, Texas to Sarah Francis Bouse and Carroll Alex Williams Sr. He graduated from Monahans High School in 1951 where he played football and was known as Dirt and boxed. He served in the U.S. Navy for 3 years as a radio man shipboard during the Korean conflict. He attended Texas Tech University where he earned his degree and became a teacher and coach.
Sonny went to school with the love of his life, Sandra Merle Williams and started dating after he got out of the Navy. They were married November 30, 1957 in Monahans, Texas and were together for 49 years.

Sonny enjoyed football in any form. He was an avid reader and gun collector. As a teacher, with his summers off, he owned and ran a canoe business on the Llano river for 30 years. He played in the river with his kids and grandkids for many many summers.

Sonny was preceded in death by his wife in 2006 and two sisters, Lou Arington and Inez Akins.

He is survived by his sister Mildred Osborn of Odessa and by his four children daughter Alexia Dupont and her husband Bill son Carroll Alex Williams III Trey and his wife Sandy daughter Serena Walston and her husband Roy and son Kaleb Williams six grandchildren Justin Smith, Katheryn Walston, Aaron Smith, Brianna Williams, Raymond Roy Walston III Dub and Chelsie Smith and one great grandson, Connor Smith.

He was the rock for his family. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

ation will be held from 4p.m. to 6p.m. Tuesday, January 28 2014 at Kimble Funeral Home and the funeral to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday January 29, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church Junction Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Rifle Association NRA.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Kimble Funeral Home.
