Carol Cotterell Chidley, 68, of Wasilla, Alaska passed from this life on November 24, 2013 at a hospital in Junction, Texas.

Carol was born July 31, 1945 in Houston, Texas to William James and Catherine Roberts Cotterell. She graduated from St. Marys Hall High School in San Antonio, attended Stephens College in Missouri and the University of Texas at Austin. She became a secondary school teacher, first at Pierce Jr. High in Austin and later spent 20 years teaching at Wasilla High School and Palmer High School in Alaska. Carol married William Jenkins Chidley on June 29, 1973 at St. Martins Episcopal Church in Houston, and they moved to Alaska in 1975. Carol loved her cats and dogs, enjoyed reading and cartoon drawing. She was always young at heart and loved to have fun. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and also a brother, William James Cotterell, III.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her husband sistersinlaw, Anne Cotterell and Claudia Chidley Allison brotherinlaw, David Chidley nieces and nephews, William James IV, Catherine Howell, Ricki Dodd, Kimberley, Jennifer, John, Daniel, and Sam along with several greatnieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held 3:00PM, Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston with Rev. Thomas Hotchkiss officiating.
