Carl Ashline, 75, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by dedication to education, service, and a lifelong pursuit of knowledge.
Born in Plattsburgh, New York, Carl later resided for many years in Saranac, New York, where he built a life centered on hard work, community, and family. Following his retirement, he relocated to Red Creek Ranch in Junction, Texas, where he enjoyed the tranquility of rural life in the Texas Hill Country.
Mr. Ashline held a diverse and accomplished career. He worked as a history teacher, sharing his passion for learning and historical study with his students. He later pursued work as a stockbroker before ultimately serving for many years as a corrections officer at the Dannemora Correctional Facility in New York State, from which he retired.
Carl was an avid reader and possessed a deep intellectual curiosity. He traveled extensively on hunting expeditions around the world and maintained a strong interest in animals throughout his life. He kept and cared for a variety of unique species on his farms and took particular pride in raising hunting dogs.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, intellect, and the lasting impression he made on those who knew him.
He was predeceased by his father, Carl Ashline; his mother, Viola Ashline; and his sisters, Shirley Williams and Sandra Ashline.
He is survived by his partner, Frida Caron; sisters, Sheila Mossey and Carol Jones; nephews, Jonathan Mossey and Darryl Woodward; nieces, Alison Mossey, Tana Shepler, Cheryl Frazier, Natania Piper, Yolanda Laundry, Cheryl Sondrini, and Sheila Rock; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and countless dear friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, May 29, 2026 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Junction City Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Kimble Funeral Home.
