Buff Beam

Buff Raun Anthony Beam, of Mountain Home, TX, born on January 21, 1946, journeyed into eternity on March 13th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit.

Throughout his life, Buff exemplified excellence and versatility, spending his career as a skilled heavy machine operator in road construction. His mastery knew no bounds; whether it had a blade or a bucket, tires or tracks, if Buff had the key, he could maneuver it with ease. Born in Fredericksburg, Texas, Buff's work took him far and wide, contributing to the construction of roads from the heart of Texas, through the mountains of Montana, to the rugged terrain of Alaska.

Buff possessed a sharp eye and unwavering precision, traits evident in his passion for hunting and his adept marksmanship, despite being a lefty. Buff was happy when hunting, whether he was facing formidable bears amidst dense mountain forests, or shooting jack rabbits out in West Texas, for population control of course.

From his early days tearing up the roads on anything with wheels to embarking on wild adventures on his motorcycle in his 60s, traveling with his fellow motorcyclists to Sturgis and back, Buff embraced life with gusto and fearlessness. In his later years, Buff's love for the open road found expression in leisurely rides around the pasture in his buggy, ensuring that fences were intact, and his beloved goats were well-fed. In retirement, Buff took to tinkering. As a skilled welder and craftsman, Buff's hands could fashion wonders, turning raw materials into works of art.

Buff’s strong faith and commitment to the Lord ensures his place amongst the angels, as he bids farewell to this earthly realm. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his sister Minnie Warden and son-in-law Kevin Johnson. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many other beloved family members and friends.

Buff is survived by his devoted wife, Kay Beam, loving daughters Sharlotte Johnson and Buffey Beam, and cherished granddaughter Dezaray Johnson, brothers Ray and Jay Rotge, and brother-in-law Tom Warden.
