Billie Chenault

Billie Ruth Baugh Chenault known as BR to friends and family, passed peacefully at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo on Friday, June 11, 2021.

Billie was born in Junction, Texas on March 6, 1937, to William Wright Baugh and Lucille St. Clair Baugh.  She was a long-time member of Junction First Baptist Church.

Billie is survived by her husband William Chenault of Junction, her two sons, Gary Chenault/wife Mary of Farmersville.  Bobby Chenault/wife Becky of Junction. Her Grandchildren Stephanie Chenault Taylor/husband Lance of Victoria, Janna Lynn Gray of McKinney, Dilan Bass Chenault of Kerrville, and Gregory Louis Chenault/wife Crystal of San Antonio, Texas. She had 11 Great grandchildren. One brother, Don Baugh/wife Sue of Weatherford, Texas.

She met her husband Billy Chenault at the Moon-Glo Drive-in theater and they married August 19, 1956. Billie worked various jobs around Junction including a local telephone switchboard operator, Ferns Donut Shop, The Little Store and as a JISD lunch staff member. After raising her boys she worked for Dairy Queen then, Junction Senior Center where she whipped up many loaves of breads and rolls. She and Billy also volunteered delivering meals for Meals on Wheels. (She went back to work so she could pitch in with “Chenny” to purchase “OUR PLACE” on the South Llano river) where they enjoyed many summer days together with family and friends. Her favorite job was being a stay at home mom to her two boys, Gary and Bobby.

BR loved her Sunday school class (Seekers) and she loved studying Gods word at home. BR served God through Junction First Baptist Church in many capacities over the years. She was secretary for the children’s class and relished watching those children grow into fine young ladies and young men, some even praying over her in the hospital when she needed it most over the last 10 years. She and Bobby teamed up to baby sit in the nursery at church, they ran the church bus to pick up kids and the elderly for Sunday service. She and Bobby also (at Brother Sam’s request) took over the First Baptist Church Sunday afternoon church services at the Hill Country Care Center for Brother Sam when he was no longer able to. BR loved “Chenny” and their life together and was so proud of their two sons and their walk with Jesus. Faith in Jesus was what sustained her and her family through the trials that took her health and eventually released her from this earth into His arms.

BR brought a positive attitude to every place she went. She saw God’s beauty in the flowers HE created. As she got on in life, she especially took note of the even tinniest of flowers (those little yellow ones on burr clover) remarking on how “they were just shining up their little faces to heaven”.

Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 18, 2021 at Junction First Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Myers officiating.

Please come and celebrate Billie’s homegoing with her family and friends.

Burial will follow at Junction Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Junction Senior Center Meals on Wheels in her honor or Junction First Baptist Church summer youth camp program.
