Aubrey Johnson, Sr.

Aubrey Clinton Johnson, Sr., 92, of Junction, Texas went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2020.

Aubrey was born to Lonnie Filmore and Linnie Lambright Johnson in Kenedy, Texas on January 30, 1928.  Aubrey's parents were share croppers in Karnes County until they moved to Junction in 1946 where he graduated from Junction High School. After graduation, he returned to Kenedy where he met and married Betty Dyer.  He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service until 1958, then he, his wife and three little girls returned to Junction, and purchased the Milky Way in 1958.  A son was added to the family in 1960. The entire family took part in operating the restaurant; with good work ethics learned along the way.  Later, Aubrey went to work for Clayton Murr at Cedar Fiber until 1986.  Aubrey and Betty operated Junction Restaurant until her death in 1996.  Aubrey loved to visit with friends and neighbors, and always knew where and when to find the next yard sale.  He was quite the horse trader.

Those left to honor his memory include daughters, Judy Raley and husband Olan, Sherry Murr and husband Bobby, Nancy Chapman and husband Bill; son, Aubrey Clinton Johnson, Jr. and wife Billie; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
