Welcome to Kimble Funeral Home

Gene and Katie Allen

Our History

The original Funeral Home was built in 1949 and opened as Smith Funeral Home, operated by Mr. Richard "Dick" Smith, owner. In 1954, Smith Funeral Home was purchased by W.A. Plummer, who operated it into the 1960's as Plummer Funeral Home. It was ultimately closed as a Funeral Home for several years, and was operated in many different ways, including; churches, stores, and an apartment house. One Junction historian recalls a wedding being held in the building as well.

Approximately 30 years later, Pat Graham opened Graham Funeral Home in November 1992, and operated it as such until September 2010 at this exact same location. Pat and Karla Graham served many families in the Junction community before deciding to enjoy a slower pace in life.

Gene Allen, President / General Manager, had a vision that stemmed from the Grahams' decision. After several months of planning and making preparations, on September 1, 2010, Kimble Funeral Home became reality and extended independent ownership for the sole purpose of continuing to serve Junction and Kimble County residents with a quality, honest, and respectful business.

Through hard work and determination, the facilities have been remodeled inside and out, giving a complete new look and feel for the area families that are served. Much technology and innovative ideas were put in place to enhance the way funeral services are provided.

The leading-edge use of the internet and technology to develop, market, and conduct business is what has given Kimble Funeral Home the opportunity to make offerings above and beyond the traditional services you would expect from any Funeral Home of the past. Kimble Funeral Home now has the ability to offer a family and friends online tributes and condolences, online floral services for those who wish to order over the internet, and a private way of pre-planning for the future, just to mention a few.

Gene and Katie Allen, his family, and the entire staff at Kimble Funeral Home takes great pride in being a part of the Junction community and look forward to a long and rewarding life serving the families of the Hill Country. Mr. Allen's philosophy is "families first," and he is committed in continuing to operate the business based on personal service and personal relationships in the community. Serving the community with a set of basic guidelines, Kimble Funeral Home serves each family with "dignity, pride, and honor."
